Things To See
Walking on the Malecon is a must! Most of the town is oriented towards this wonderful beach-side walkway. Museums, shops, restaurants and most tourist facilities can be found close by the Malecon.
The nicest beaches are located towards the ferry terminal. Some are within walking distance of the apartments, but the nicest (Balandra) is past the ferry terminal.
La Paz is always hosting some type of festival or event. Most are centered on the Malecon by the tourist pier (Muelle).
Take a Spanish class! Right around the corner from Casa Republica is a fabulous Spanish language school. They offer free cultural presentations on Tuesdays. Check out their website:
While there are diving opportunities around La Paz, visitors of all ages can enjoy the sea lions at Isla Espiritu Santo, an island off shore, or an afternoon at the beach. Rent kayaks and paddle the day away, exploring secluded coves and deserted beaches.
